Quote Of The Week
“No matter how much experience you have, how many degrees you have, or how well known you have become — there is always something new to learn. Don’t rest on your past experiences. If you do nothing to improve your skills, you won’t stay where you are.”
― Laura Spencer

Book Of The Week
With the sad passing of Toni Morrison, winner of the Nobel laureate, it’s time to revisit a classic work. The Bluest Eye was first published in 1970 and follows a young African American girl’s journey in 1941. Being regarded as ‘ugly’, the girl becomes obsessed over blue eyes and their association with ‘whiteness’. This book delves deep into many difficult and controversial topics such as incest, religion, child molestation, shame and racism. While it may seem dark, it is a compelling and enlightening read.
You can find The Bluest Eye on Amazon here.
